Living Arrows 2/52

The first full week of the year was hectic and I didn’t take many photographs so it seems as I look back to find one for this project. Reuben went back to work on the Tuesday and I went back on the Wednesday and Archie back to school on the Thursday. It was a week of juggling childcare prior to school restarting and trying to get back into routines both at work and at home, not easy after a two week break! Nevertheless, the photo I have chosen was taken on Monday 2nd January when Archie and I went out for lunch in our local department store. I very much appreciated the time I had with him at home over the school holidays and we had a good chat for the hour of so we were there. Its times like these that are almost overlooked as being part of every day that we should appreciate more.

Living Arrows is a weekly photography project organised by Donna at What the Redhead Said. She describes the project as ‘a moment of parenthood that made you feel inspired to press the shutter.’ The name is derived from a passage about childhood in Khalil Gibran’s The Prophet, ‘You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.’
