To say its been a while is an understatement, I have been absent on the blog for about 4 months, since the start of May, to be precise. A multitude of reasons really. Partly because life has been hectic and any spare time I have had I haven’t felt the desire to sit down and forcibly write a blog entry. However, the majority of my spare time since the end of June has been invested in eating healthier and actively trying to lose weight (for good!). I re-joined Slimming world (having previously been a member after having Archie) and this time I have been doing far better and to date have lost 25lbs. Still a long way to go but i’m already feeling happier and healthier (but REALLY miss bread & pasta!).
Summer highlights have included a trip to the Lake District again (after we thoroughly enjoyed our trip there last year) in late May with my folks to celebrate my sister’s 30th. I love the area and never tire of exploring places like Grasmere (source of great gingerbread by the way!), Keswick, Derwentwater, Whinlatter and Bowness-on-Winderemere.
And another week away with the family to celebrate Dad’s 65th birthday in the Welsh valleys at the end of last month.
The summer seems to have zipped past and despite the weather promises of long hot sunny days being few and far between we have still had fun. Maybe not managing to do as much as we had hoped on the summer bucket list but when its grey and miserable outside its hard to muster up the energy to get up and go outside only to be soaked within minutes! Amongst the big trips away we managed to get to Legoland, catch-up with family and friends in the local parks, visit local farms, celebrate birthdays and Archie’s graduation from nursery, attend summer fetes and get into London on a few occasions. All in all, it was a great summer!
Now the focus is all on Archie’s 1st day in reception on Tuesday.
