The collection of photos I have chosen to use this week are all from Archie’s 4th birthday. He had been under the weather since Wednesday with a sore throat and cough but he rallied on Saturday. Just about! We got him a bike and the look on his face was a treat. He found enough energy after lunch to spend a couple of hours picking up the pedalling speed and managed to stay awake long enough to blow out his birthday candles. Hopefully we will manage some rescheduled birthday fun this week on my day off and perhaps next weekend too to make up for it!
Living Arrows is a weekly photography project organised by Hayley at Shutterflies. She describes the project as ‘a moment of parenthood that made you feel inspired to press the shutter.’ The name is derived from a passage about childhood in Khalil Gibran’s The Prophet, ‘You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.’
