#1day12pics | a photo an hour in June

In March 2014 (way before my blogging days) Emma and Michelle jointly formed the concept of 12 pics in 1 day, #1day12pics. The aim of the project is to help grow creativity with the challenge of seeing the beauty in everyday life and to appreciate the little moments. Here is how it works:

1. First Saturday of every month you take a photo every hour for 12 hours.
2. Share your photos with the hashtag #1day12pics on any social media platforms you use such as Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.
3. If you blog, write a post about your photo day and link it up at the end of this post.
4. Use any camera, including camera phones. Don’t worry if you’re a bit late or miss one of your photos.
5. Things are more fun with friends. Ask them to join in!

We were inspired to take part when we spotted Charlotte from Baking Betsy had taken part last month. Here is our day:

8AM: Every morning (usually) starts with a warming, hearty bowl of porridge and today was no different except Percy and his troublesome trucks joined us.

9AM: In the car and ready to go on our action-packed day out. It is so nice to spend time with the little fella, just me & him.

10AM: Arrived at Lee Valley Park Farm. We bought a discounted annual pass through LittleBird and have used it a handful of times, great for spontaneous trips out with friends who also have it. Archie and his friend Alex had a great morning and were intrigued by the guinea-pigs!

11AM: Still at the park farm and playtime is in full swing. They played so nicely, taking turns to be the driver and sit in the trailer, although the mums had to get involved and help the driver with the heavy load!

12 noon: Why is bouncing so much fun for kids and adults alike?

1PM: We left the farm park and travelled to Capel Manor Gardens, Archie was up very early this morning and went to bed very late last night so he was shattered. The 45 minute nap was enough for me to whip out a magazine stored in the bag for times like these and grab a moment of peace. Found some good crafty ideas for Father’s Day in a couple of weekends time.

2PM: The Japanese Garden at Capel Manor Gardens is lovely. Very tranquil and seems to have a very calming effect on Archie which in turn calms Mum. He loves water and I love that he does.

3PM: Water fountain at Capel Manor Gardens. Another water based feature that caught both our attentions.

4PM: Just before we left Capel Manor Gardens I spotted a sign for pond dipping and Archie couldn’t have been more excited. So nice to see his enthusiasm for the great outdoors. He has a collection of RSPB books and the mini beast one is one of his favourites. He certainly knows his pond skater from his water boatman!

5PM: Back home and we had quiet time with jigsaws whilst Daddy made tea and spoke about our day out today, what we did, who we saw and what we saw.

6PM: Dinnertime! Archie has loved eggs since he was teenie-tiny which was always an easy way to get protein in him. Now he is a serious dippy egg connoisseur!
7PM: Storytime, The Gruffly. One of many favourites. Drawing to a close my first #1day12pics.

  1. I love this idea! What a great way to document your day and it looks like you had a good one, the gardens do look very tranquil and I am very jealous of his egg cup and jigsaws. Think we will be on the hunt for some of those 🙂 xx
